cycling, skipping or walking in spite of her professional commitments and being a hands-on mom. Wants to know the secret behind Raveena Tondon’s svelte figure? It’s the most basic of things – a disciplined workout schedule.

How is your fitness regimen like?(how many days and for how many hours you workout) elaborate…
One should strive to look good always but with methods like enhancing their natural beauty by following a good diet. I exercise six days in a week and eat a balanced diet. Also stay away from smoking and drinking and love my beauty sleep. This results in looking fresh. Staying happy and thinking positive are also secrets of my everlasting beauty and dazzling smile.
Unlike what most people think, Raveena’s workouts are just basic weight lifting and nothing fancy. Each workout of mine is of high intensity and hard. There is a focus on strength training. My work out for 2 hours each day. Even when I have to go for shooting, my trainer lands up at 5:45 am and I am always ready to work out that early also. My favourite workout is the ‘dead lift’ and the squat and I handle 150 pounds or even more. I can do 20 to 30 push ups!!!
Which are the areas you concentrate on more? Any particular body part?
Push Up, Push Off this move will have your whole body working, so you’ll not only hit your chest, but your arms and abs too. My trainer helps for push-up, like start in a plank position and lower my body toward the floor. As you press back up, push off your right arm and lift your hand all the way off the floor
Fitness tips you would like to give the readers?
Setting your targets gives you clarity on what you ultimately want. It makes you crystallize and articulate the desires floating in your mind. It ensures that you are channeling your time, energy and efforts into things that really matter to you. It makes you live more consciously.
The quality of discipline is a habit, a practice, a philosophy and a way of living. Whether in terms of your diet, fitness, work ethic or relationships, discipline is the number one trait needed to accomplish target, lead a healthy lifestyle, and ultimately, be happy
Although lethargy is common and a natural part of life, it has the potential to completely consume us. Exercise is the simplest way to overcome lethargy. A lot of the time, we are lazy because completing a task seems too difficult. Exercise will help you break through that barrier of inertia and will help you feel motivated and more willing to put in effort
How is your diet like?(please elaborate on your breakfast, lunch and dinner )
I believe in building endurance and eating healthy to look your best. I do not advocate starvation or reduced calorie diet. I consume high quality protein – chicken, fish and eggs, paneer, nuts etc. I am a hardcore non vegetarian. My diet also includes fibre, good and healthy fat, low.

I consume high quality protein – chicken, fish and eggs, paneer, nuts etc. I am a hardcore non vegetarian. My diet also includes fibre, good and healthy fat, low sugar but absolutely no junk food. I change the diet as per my shooting schedules, energy levels, travel plans and seasonal changes.
I have never touched fat burners and other weight loss products. No shortcuts, no gimmicks, no fad diets. For me, science is the key. I follow instructions meticulously from how much water to drink to how much portion of food to consume. I discuses my diet every single day.
Any food stuff you avoid particularly? Are you calorie conscious?
plain Pasteurized whole milk to put in my plain coffee and avoid low fat and non-fat milk – because low fat dairy products usually have dried. being too calorie conscious or calorie obsessed can actually be unhealthy
What is your cheat food and how often do you cheat?
I have nothing against occasional “refeeds” – as in eating more carbs or calories than usual one day.
How is your skin care routine like? Name the products you swear by?
Use a gentle foaming cleanser that remove makeup and excess oil, but won’t dry out skin. I use a light moisturizer that contains sunscreen in day, at night I choose a basic light moisturizer if need it. I don’t want to play too much or I’ll over do it and my skin will get out of wack. It’s important to figure out which products work best for your skin type and how to use them properly. I swear by Wet n Wild’s lipstick
What are the skin problems you face? (may be breakouts, acne etc)
Acne problem is unfortunately very common. I have seen people say diet, stress and other things are involved, while they may contribute to things, they do not cause acne in people. And we take care of it to minimize it.
Skin care tips ?
NO matter how late I come home, I always remove my make-up. I mix pure coconut oil with olive oil, smooth it over my skin and wipe it off with cotton wool. It’s naturally soothing to skin. Try to sleep for a minimum of eight hours a day and never use soap on your face – it’s too harsh. Don’t overload your skin with fancy products.
Every day I religiously wash my face with a cleanser and follow it up with a serum. Sometimes I use a toner depending on how my skin feels that day. I follow my regimen twice a day – morning and night. I’m not a stickler about make-up brands, and generally am okay with whatever the make-up artist is carrying. Different make-up persons use different brands, from Bobbi Brown to Mac. It’s nothing fixed for me.
How do you take care of your hands and feet?
The face is like the crown of our body, so it gets all the attention all the time but our hands and feet that over work around. Considering the huge responsibility hands and legs have, I always give the kind of care and attention that they deserve. Also encounter direct sun exposure so before going out don`t forget to apply sunscreen lotion on your hands and feet along with face and neck.
How is your hair care routine like? Products you swear by?
If you see my career graph, I have always chosen different films. I have done my commercial lot also, where I have done the song-and-dance and the typical love story tracks. It was very important for me to choose different hairstyle.
Hair problems you face and how do you address them?
low iron levels, poor diet and stress, can all cause hair to fall. You won’t be able to stop the hair from falling out; I have experiment with my diet to give my hair a fuller look during this transition period.
How often do you go for hair spas?
I go whenever I am free. I should be doing it once in 15 days.
Hair care tips?
Eat healthy, have multivitamin It is the best hair treatment. Protect hair with sun block and if one has dry hair, then apply leave-in conditioner to the ends. I always plait my hair before sleeping. That’s the best way to avoid breaking the hair.
Your parenting mantras?
Mantras are also useful to redirect our attention to what we value most in life, Parenting mantra is a short statement that reminds you of a quality that you desire as a parent. It also might be things you say to yourself to keep yourself going or the children.
I believe taking a mindful pause is one of the most important actions we can take to make us more patient in our parenting. Taking a mindful pause in order to respond, rather than react, to my children’s behavior has helped me become a more calm and compassionate mother
Tips for healthy and happy relationship ?
Mutual respect if you don’t have this well, it’s going to be a tough road. This doesn’t mean you agree with everything your partner says or does. It does mean that you have admiration for each other, and steady undercurrent of love and trust throughout your relationship. You also have each other’s back. You have to have mutual respect to have a healthy relationship.
How do you strike a work-life balance?
It’s not easy balancing work and home, but how well I manage this can make a significant difference to my relationship with my family.
Women are bonded emotionally as well as physically to her responsibilities. Becoming a mother is a blessing which is bestowed only on women — along with motherhood comes the responsibility of raising children with the best of everything. There are always two sides to a coin.
I have the best of both worlds. I have been lucky never having taken a break from my passions – movies, post marriage and children. Like any working mother I plan home, work and other commitments keeping in mind that I need to give my best in all! I am blessed with a wonderful husband and children who make it all possible. If you set your priorities right, things automatically fall into place!
While having two kids is a handful; I still manage to take time out for physical activity. Anil and I love the outdoors and we do end up clubbing the two – running after the kids while enjoying an outdoor sport with them
What stresses you out? And what are your stress busters?
Exercising to be a stress buster and don’t skip out on it a single day. Working out this regularly has also helped immune system to strengthen; therefore, this prevents from falling ill too frequently.
